ESG Grants JROTC Scholarships Through Heil Golf Fundraiser

Through the recent Heil Charity Golf event, organized by the affinity group Veterans of ESG, more than $7,000 was raised to directly support ROTC and STEM programs in local schools. The proceeds from this event enabled veterans Timothy Guinn (U.S. Air Force) and Jeff Sims (U.S. Army) to present two local high school students with JROTC scholarships on behalf of Heil.

Recipients Xander Carrillo and Hannah Washington are both high school seniors, chosen by their commander, Lieutenant Colonel John Walker, for being in the top 10% of the cadet corps and the top 25% of their senior class academically. Congratulations to these two gifted students and sincere appreciation for their desire to serve our country.

The entire ESG team would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the organizers of the Heil Golf event, which made the scholarships possible. Tim Guinn, Chris Lawson, Jeff Sims, Sam Podgorny, and many members of our dedicated plant team selflessly gave their time to make the event a huge success. Our gratitude also goes out to the Women of ESG affinity group and the ESG event and marketing teams for their support and efforts in organizing and promoting this event. Additionally, we’d like to give a huge shout-out to our supporters who sponsored holes—their generosity played an essential role in allowing us to provide the JROTC scholarships.

ESG wishes to express its profound respect and gratitude to the military veterans within our company and to all who have served and continue to serve. Your sacrifices ensure our freedoms, and for that, we are eternally thankful.
