Each year, Heil replaces the American flag that is proudly displayed on the flag pole in front of our facility. In the past, the worn flag has been discarded. The Heil Veteran’s Group is now “retiring” this flag and presenting the flag to the Longest Serving Heil Employee that is also a Veteran. The group will continue to present this to another Veteran the following year.
This year’s inaugural recipient is Bob Herzberg (with 35 years, and 8 months at the company!)
Bob is a Navy Veteran, serving from 1978-1982, as a Machinist Mate on the USS Saratoga. Bob joined Heil in November of 1986 as a welder, moving through various positions in the plant where he soon landed in the Quality Department as a QMS facilitator.
From quality, Bob was promoted to a Quality Engineer, then to an Application Engineer, Product Manager and in his latest role as Warranty Manager since 2018.
We also welcomed the new Dekalb County VA Representative Lauren Turner to our site. She met with Veterans to help educate them on how to access benefits, set up 1:1 appointments, and apply for additional compensation for any disabilities as a result of their service.
Thank you to the veterans who have served our country with bravery and perseverance. ESG appreciates your service and sacrifice.
